Heinkel Archiv, Stuttgart ?
Wed Jan 9 09:23:12 2002
Hi all!
Jet & Prop had a two-part He-60 -article in early 90's. In the end the authors thanks "Heinkel archiv" at Stuttgart (at least that's how I remember it).
Does anyone know this archive and their contact info (address, telephone etc.) ? How exhaustive collection do they have (photos, drawings, manuals etc.) ?
I am trying to research Heinkel He-50 (biplane "stuka") and their use by NSGr 11. If someone has similar interests, please contact.
Thanking in advance,
Kari

Hi Kari,
the Heinkel Archiv doesn't exist any more. All material was given to the German museum in Munich.

CJ,
A quick search through the Europages gave this:
HEINKEL AG
Gottlob-Grotz-Str. 1 74321 Bietigheim-Bissingen - Deutschland - Tel: +49 (7142) 356 01 - Fax: +49 (7142) 35 61 19
A search through Map24 gives a distance of 25,3 km of the center of Stuttgart.
Now is this the old Ernst Heinkel AG factory? A fellow German participant could definitively give you the answer...
Best regards,
Philippe

As I wrote, you will not find any official Heinkel office today, especially for your type sheet request. But Aviatic Verlag published a book a few years ago with Heinkel Type Sheets. You may contact Aviatic itself via www.aviatic.de . Or try to find the book at ebay or somewhere else. The book was called "Heinkel - Chronic and Type Sheets".

Ernst Heinkel Flugzeugwerke GmbH merged with
Vereinigte Flugzeugwerke GmbH VWF in 1965,
which later became part of MBB and then Dasa.
At Zuffenhausen Heinkel AG concentrated on
the engine developement since then.
There is "Heinkel AG" at Bissingen,
which was renamed from Maschinenfabrik Grotz GmbH
in 1999. Ernst Heinkel was a shareholder of this
company since 1939, however Grotz GmbH is not
the legal successor of Heinkel Flugzeugwerke.
At the Speyer production plant since 1995
the Pfalz-Flugzeugwerke Speyer was established,
when Dasa decided to close the shops. Workers
bought the former Heinkel facilities and
today produce parts for Airbus.

The Heinkel Archives were transferred from Stuttgart to the Deutsche Museum at Munich in 1999. If it is this you're looking for.
