Map of XII. Fliegerkorps

I have just got a copy of a German map describing the Himmelbett sectors of the XII. Fliegerkorps. This map is entitled:
"Gen.Kdo. XII. Fl.Korps
Br. B. Nr. 1500/43 g.Kdos.
I/4/43".
I first thought it describes the XII. Fliegerkorps situation on 1st April 1943, but in this case the common writing should be "Stand vom 1.4.43". Can someone tell me if I/4/43
is just a reference number or if the map is actually dated 1/4/43?

I have another concern with this map: the units are labelled as "aufgestellt" (established) and "etatisiert". In fact, most are both "aufgestellt" and "etatisiert". Up to now, I
have been unable to understand "etatisiert" with my limited German knowledge and I would be grateful to anybody who can give me the right meaning.

Regards,

Philippe

First I must tell you that I am most interested in a copy of that map. It must contain the whole of the Netherlands. Is it possible to send a copy by e-mail?
Secondly "etatisiert" is planned in the next fiscal year. This means that the budget for the unit is already there.

Dear Philippe,

The map you are refering to is from 1 April 1943. I had the same question as you. From known histories of specific Himmelbett stations I could deduce that with 1/4/43 the
1th April 1943 was meant. Not on this map are several Himmelbett stations from which we know that must have been established later on. However, it is still debated
whether the stations 'Schmetterling', 'Seeadler' and 'Rotkelchen' belonged to an early class of radar interception stations or simply were traditional Himmelbett stations in
the Kammhuber concept of covering Europe with as many stations as possible.

You will also find the locations of every Nachtjagdraumführer (102 and 103) and Staffs from the Abteilungen within the Ln.Rgt. 211, 201, etc.

May I ask how large your copy is? I have one that is approx. an DIN A2 copy. It covers large parts of northwest Europe. The original is at Freiburg, I can't remember the
signature anymore but can look it up for you, if you want.

Best wishes, Marcel

Dear Marcel,

Thank you for your informations. The copy I have covers 2 A3 pages and is extracted from BA-MA file RL 8/84 (if my memory is correct as I have not it with me for now).

Best regards,

Philippe
