Hello,

I just got some information, that the Luftwaffe built some secret installations in my vincinity. I belive, that these installations were "dummy" airfields and so on.

My problem is, that the type for the installation is given by codenames like "Tonne" and "Bucht".

Could anyone help me to find out what kind of installations these were ?
Is there a list existing, which gives the answer what TONNE is ??

hello,

i'm interested in this. there were dummy airfields as well as real airfields, camouflaged as "agricultural areas". but, you gave very small information, on the region, on "tonne" and "bucht" - no further context on this words?

The mentioned installations were all in the vicinity of Giessen, which is ca. 60 miles NNW of Frankfurt / Main.
Towns and cities with different installations were as following :
Heuchelheim, Rodheim (Tonne), Altenbuseck (Bucht), Wetzlar and Hermannstein.
