The 2./ZG 1 was based in Chateauroux from 18.6.44 - 20.7.44
The Jagdfliegerschule 3 since 1942, changed name in JG 103 from 1943 on and was also based there .

I'm not sure what Luftwaffe or flak units were there, but I do know that the 474th FG blasted a major SS Gestapo HQ that was based at the airfield on 17 Aug 44. It was a coordinated attack where the French Macquis (resistance) moved in to mop up once the 474th had completed their bombing. The mission was an unqualified success.
