Dear Fellow Luftwaffe Researchers,
The following discussion was actually on the issue of why some researchers are reluctant to share some of their sources. I can fully empathize with DR's predicament and understand why he would not wish to share his knowledge of this particular source. I present his letter just to show that such a resource does exist. Where you can, please do share.
Regards,
Richard

Some have asked why others don't reveal their sources....one reason could be that the sources would be closed to them if they were to reveal them! I know this to be
true....I have recently seen, at locations in NW England original PoW records both for Axis PoWs in the UK (giving family and unit info, where captured and where
kept, 'interrogation' notes and medical records incl X rays) and British PoWs. The latter records were brought back to the UK after the war and are obviosly in German.
I have been told,in no uncertain terms, that the location etc of these records can not be made public for a variety of reasons.incl government open to claims, family
members still alive (some on both sides appear to have given a lot more than just name, rank and no). I have a particular interest in He111 crews and can not afford to
jeopardise my source. Apparently release is subject to review in 2015! I am aware that some earlier documentation may have been released to the PRO for
research/retention.
