Good Morning David,
Florian Berger's self-published book, though professionally printed and bound, doesn't have a title page in the usual sense, so there is no publisher or printer mentioned, or even a specific date of publication. At the end of the book, the author provides some personal information and comments on some of the reasons for writing the book, as well as expressing his thanks to various people and organizations. Dated and signed December 1999 at Breitenfurt bei Wien. The Foreward was written by Dr. Gerhard Artl, Obstlt.Bestand Gruppe Deutsche Wehrmacht/Osterr. Staatsachiv/Archiv der Republik, if this is any help. ISBN Number 3-9501307-0-5. The book contains biographies of 159 holders of the Knight's Cross, with Oak Leaves and Swords, from all branches, including Heer, Kriegsmarine and Waffen SS, as well as the Luftwaffe. Each bio comprises about 2 pages on average. The page size is small (about 15 x 20cm) but the type is small also and permits the inclusion of a lot of information. It has the advantage of including much up-to-date information, such as post-war activities, if any, and date of death. The author lists 2 1/2 pages of sources, as well as 9 or 10 pages of footnotes. I recommend it highly; although I have read only a small portion, it seems to be well-researched and I have detected but one slight error so far. All of the above does not help or enable you to contact the author, but may offer a clue that you can pursue to that end."

The site does offer some useful information.

Probe-Biographien - 10 sample biographies from the book. Each biography includes a photo of the Ritterkreuz holder.

Komplette Namensliste - A complete list of the holders along with a remark about each.

Zahlen & Fakten - Numbers and facts about the awards and award holders.

Vorwort - Discussion about the history of the award - probably the preface to the book.

Weitere Bücher des Autors - Presents a second book, Erfolgreiche Alliierte Fliegerasse des Zweiten Weltkrieges (Successful Allied Flying Aces of the Second World War), which presents biographies of 60 top pilots of the "American, British, Soviet and free-French Air Force the opponents of the large knight cross carriers".

Regards,
Richard
