Exactly what were the differences / missions of each magazine? Is there an on-line archive of issue's?
A trip to the local Barnes and Noble had a book called " Signal in Color " which was as the title says. A neat book. Are there other books chronicling the histroy of both
publications?
Thanks.

SIGNAL was produced by the Wehrmacht, under the auspices of the Propaganda Ministry, for sale in the conquered and neutral nations. Sales in Germany, except for the
military, were minimal. Produced in 20 languages, production qualities were superior, with excellent graphics and photo reproduction, including color. Emphasis was on
political and cultural subjects.
DER ADLER was a Luftwaffe propaganda piece, printed in English and French, as well as German. Following the same basic format as SIGNAL, it concentrated on the
successes of German airpower and the exploits of its airmen. DER ADLER enjoyed a certain amount of popularity in the US before the war began in 1941, achieving its
highest English langauge circulation there.
Two publications, both now out of print, describe and feature both SIGNAL and DER ADLER: "Hitler's Wartime Picture Magazine SIGNAL" - Edited by S.L. Mayer, Prentice
Hall, 1976, and "DER ADLER - The Official Nazi Luftwaffe Magazine" - Edited by S.L. Mayer & Masami Tokoi, Thomas Y. Crowell, NY 1977. Both publications offer brief
comment on the magazines and feature typical photos and articles. There may be additional books and publications published since the 1970s; you obviously found one at
Barnes & Noble. I know of no on-line archive of these two magazines.

You might want to try this site:

This chap in Spain seems to have virtually all of the issues and would be a worthy contact to obtain information on the contents of a specific issue. He might also have
some leads on "Der Adler".
Best of luck,
David

I went to the noted website and found that the authors plan to cover "Der Adler", too. The site is in Spanish. The following is an AltaVista translation from their website:
"In preparation the page dedicated to the magazine of army Luftwaffe the air DER ADLER, published from 1,939 to 1,944, his history, all its covers per years of publication."
