Hi out there,

Can anyone help me with more information on this event (date, month, purpose of visit etc.)? Any ideas on where to go look for further information?

Thanks in advance,
Morten

Morten -
Interesting question. A valuable source of Intelligence to the British was the diplomatic traffic from the Japanese Embassy in Berlin-particularly the Military attache. I
believe, they read this at BP and also the Pacific.

Any visit from a high ranking figure should have generated a lot of traffic, and I think you had best get stuck into either Harry Hinsley's British Intelligence in WW2 volumes,
and then following his citations there, launch yourself at t the decrypts now at the PRO (Primary). There must also be plenty of MAGIC stuff available? Try NARA, and then
RG 457.

Good hunting.

Try HW 1 at the PRO. As I understand it, these are the decrypts which Churchill viewed. HW 1/3393 contains details of a message sent by Oshima concerning a display
on 5/12/44 at Rechlin, which interestingly enough also included a large number of ground weapons.

That sounds interesting. Didn't Albert Speer make a speech at Rechlin on that date? I think there is a transcript of it in the UEA Zuckerman archive. Check Speer
interrogations.
