Hi,
I'm looking for the Luftvaffe code letter systems for the captured aircrafts.
One source stated that Caudron Simoun captured in Yugoslavia was coded as CJ+?? when two first code letters means C(Caudron-producer) and J(Jugoslawien)for ex user state .
Does that system works with other captured aircrafts?

Also, looking for the data about aircraft captured by Germans and sample collection at Beutepark der Luftwaffe 5 at Paris Nanterne and similar sample collections at Rechlin, Berlin Adlershof. In fact i search for the fate of Yugoslav aircrafts like Rogozarski Ik-3, Ikarus Orkan, and other aircrafts captured by Germans.
Does any of these aircrafts was tested at test and research center at Rechlin.
Any info regarding this question will be greatly appreciated,
Thanx

Dear Nenad,

You are are looking for the Luftwaffe code system for captured aircraft. Well there was no Luftwaffe code system for captured a/c. Captured aircraft were given a factory code or a unit code, depending if they were flying with an operational Luftwaffe unit or not. The first two letters you gave, were the first two letter of the factory code. This code has four letters. Two before and two after the "Balkenkreuz". E.g. AA+AA was the first one ever. This was introduced in 1939 in replacement for the WL+ADAG type of code. So CJ+ does not mean Caudron Jugoslawien. The normal Luftwaffe unit code was a combination of a letter and a figure. E.g. 5J+ was for KG 4, and 4D+ was KG 30. You can find at the several Luftwaffe sites nice surveys of these codes.
