Hi, guys!
I have to stay a day longer than planned to get a low price ticket by plane to a conference I am attending in Leipzig this week.
Any ideas on what to do on a Sunday in the German capital?
Are the museums open??
I will probably spend monday on Bundesarchiv - Filmarchiv or WASt if I can get an appointment.
Regards and all ideas welcome,
Andreas

MVT is open from 1000-1800 Sunday according to my museum book . If you don't have location contact details let me know . Seems the new annex won't be open till late next year now though.

Hi, Andreas,
if you haven't been there before and if it absolutely has to be aircraft then try the Luftwaffenmuseum at the former Berlin-Gatow airfield. Otherwise if culture is a possibility have a look at the museums on the Museumsinsel in the center of the town (Pergamon altar, Ishtar gate to name just a few of the world famous exhibits), or go to Berlin-Dahlem to the Völkerkundemuseum (ethnological collection, one of the world's largest, impossible to view in a single day) or for something more ancient visit the dinosaur skelletons in the Naturkundliches Museum in Invalidenstraße. Or what about Egyptian culture? The museum at Schloß Charlottenburg holds one of the finest collections in the world. If you are interested in garden culture travel down to Potsdam and amuse yourself like Friedrich II. did in the park of his summer residence Sanssouci (it IS more fun in summertime). Berlin certainly is no place for boredom. BTW museums in Germany are usualy closed on mondays.
Have a nice trip.
Stefan
