HI all.

I am preparing new site called White Star vs. Black Cross. It will cover the air activity over Europe from the look of 8. and 15.AF agains Luftwaffe and their comrades.
Will cover years 1943 from June to May 1945.
Losses of USAAF, victories for USAAF and Luftwaffe would be attached for each day with small description...But I am missing 1945 claims for Luftwaffe and also need for these years 43-45 luftwaffe losses (in any form). If someone can share his info, please do so and contact me offline...
It would be of help to you all.

Thanks

Peter:)

Assembling data on Luftwaffe losses is a life's work for someone. Even where official data survive, there are inevitable inaccuracies which can only be corrected by years of patient research (including the excavation of wrecks). Some people have devoted decades to the Battle of Britain period alone.

The loss records for 1943 exist at the Bundesarchiv, Freiburg; those for 1944 and much of 1945 are lost. A great many people have contributed toward filling the gaps from a huge range of sources but that work is unlikely ever to be complete. You can find out more about this on the Luftwaffe Archives Group website at http://lwag.org/

Some of the discussions there might inspire you to do some research of your own - it's a fascinating activity.

For Luftwaffe loss records at the BA/MA Freiburg for the air war over Czech territory on 24 Aug. 1944, the reader is referred to the "Archives in Germany: Bundesarchive" forum, the "BA/MA - Freiburg - 13" topic.
