HI,
HALF A YEAR AGO I STARTED TO RESEARCH THE HISTORY OF SANDHOFEN FLIEGERHORST SINCE I'M TRYING TO WRITE A BOOK ABOUT ITS HISTORY. I'M STATIONED THERE AS AN AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLER. IN THIS BOARD A Greg Hackenberg WROTE ME THAT HE HAD SOME MATERIAL ABOUT THE FIELD. AS I WROTE HIM BACK HIS E-MAIL IS WRONG! DOES ANYONE KNOW HIS NEW E-MAIL?? ALSO I WOULD BE VERY GLAD ABOUT ANY INFO ABOUT THE AIRFIELD, ESPECIALLY ABOUT PIX AND LAYOUT OF THE OLD FLIEGERHORST. I ALSO CAN OFFER REFERENCE PIX FROM TODAY AND INFO ABOUT THE TODAY STATUS.
THANKS FOR YOU HELP

For aerial photos of Fl.Pl. Mannheim-Sandhofen, I suggest that you contact the Air Photo Library of the University of Keele, which maintains a collection of 5 million aerial photos from the W.W. II era on loan from the Public Records
Office: M. C. Beech, Air Photo Archive, Keele University, Staffordshire ST5 5BG, United Kingdom. This facility probably also maintains a worldwide web site.

Go to website www.lwag.org,
access the site and select "Archives in the UK & Ireland",
scroll down to "Air Photo Archive Keele University, Staffordshire, UK". Keele has an archive of 5.5+-million WW II reconnaissance photos that include virtually all of the German airfields. Be prepared to pay c. 60-Euro in search fees, reproduction costs, postage and handling. Sehr teuer! But they have what you want!

Please can you tell me about the quality and the size of the photo paper that Keele uses for reproductions ?

I can't make up my mind should I order photo or scan ?

Any suggestions ?

Thanks and all the best,

Marko

The size depends on your request, of course.
The ones I ordered were to my full satisfaction, I must say.
