This is a U-boat site, but does contain scattered information on aircraft. The site address is:
http://uboat.net/
My particular U-boat of interest is U-234, the U-boat that presumably carried a crated Me 262 aboard for shipment to Japan. I ran a search and, sure enough, it was covered, albeit briefly. References were given to books with information on this U-boat.
The site contains sections covering articles, men, boats, books, gallery, movies, the Allies, and WW I.
There are extensive discussion forums. Going to the "General Discussions" forum, I again searched to see what discussions there had been on U-234. There is a lot of interest in this boat, as there are currently 134 messages pertaining to it. I next tried a variety of attempts to find Me 262, but the search engine was balky with that. Using quote marks, gave no results. Without quote marks, there was a tendency to look for Me and/or 262, even with a request for the exact phrase. With 20 responses to this search, at least some related to the Me 262.
There is also a "members only" section entitled "The Conning Tower". It promises to contain a lot of information, but I did not join to find out.
Regards,
Richard
