The organization is the Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps (or National Socialist Flying Corps (NSFK)).
This national flying organization was sponsored by the Party as an effort to develop aviation-mindedness and simple, cheap flying experiences in the 1930s.

Hello Dirk,
I have not been able yet to sent the book and coming weekend is (again!) full of appointments, but I came across a small piece of info that might be interesting: the first TO (Techn.Offizier) of I.NJG 1 in Venlo, Oblt. Willi Dimter, has been Technische Inspektor at the Mannheim-Sandhofen airfield per 1-9-1939. He got the task to establish a Geraeteausgabe- und Geraeteausgabestelle in Buerstadt (u umlaut).
Till soon! Marcel Hogenhuis

From two sources, one unpublished and the other published:
(1) Oberkommando der Wehrmacht, Abteilung für Wehrmachtpropaganda; 57 folders (Geheim-Akten) of “Personalveränderungen” (officer promotions, reassignments, discharges, temporary assignments, etc.) for the Heer, Luftwaffe and, to a much lesser extent, the Kriegsmarine. The 39,976 pages in the collection cover Apr 1939 to Oct 1943 plus a single folder for Aug 1944, but is incomplete, especially for the Luftwaffe. Hi to all!
As you probably know I'm researching as the airfield historian of Coleman Army Airfield, the former Fliegerhorst Sandhofen Mannheim, the history of this airfield for writing a book on the history from 1936 to 2004.
I have almost done the research for the period from 1935 to 1945 and am asking you all, if anyone has anything from Sandhofen in that timeframe.
I appreciate your help. The book will be coming out around Chritmastime and there will be a German and an English edition!
Thanks again

Yellow B17 and Lancaster III at Sandhofen
Tue Apr 27, 2004 08:08
147.40.250.249
ON MY RESEARCHES FOR MY BOOK ON THE FLIEGERHORST SANDHOFEN, MANNHEIM/GERMANY I WAS TOLD YESTERDAY FROM AN EYWITNESS, THAT A B17 WAS FLOWN IN HERE FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES. IT WAS TO SHOW HOW IT WAS WEAPONED AND SO THE PILOTS COULD SEE IT ONCE ON THE GROUND AND NOT ONLY FLYING BY.
IT WAS PAINTED ALL YELLOW AND NO MARKINGS ARE KNOWN! SO I WOULD LIKE TO ASK THE EXPERTS IF A PLANE LIKE THIS IS KNOWN TO ANYBODY??
ANY PICTURES SOMEWHERE? ANYMORE INFO ON THE DISPLAY AND IS IT NORMAL THAT THEY PAINTED IT ALL YELLOW?
and my second question:
I CAME ACROSS A LIST
OF A SHOT DOWN LANCASTER III BOMBER. IT WAS SHOT DOWN ON THE 5/6. 9. 1944 AND BELONGED TO THE 44 RAF SQUADRON. SERIAL: Lancaster III JA703 KM-W.
I WAS TRYING TO FIND MORE INFO ABOUT IT, SINCE OLD PEOPLE TOLD ME THAT A LANCASTER WAS LAYING ON THE AIRFIELD IN 1944. ALSO I SEARCHED FOR A HISTORIAN ON THE 44 SQUADRON BUT FOUND NONE.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME?
THANKS FOR ANY HELP
GREETINGS FROM THE OLD WORLD!

Hello Dirk,
Nice to meet again!
To your first question, this might be of great help:
http://www.luftwaffe-experten.co.uk/beuteflugzeuge.html
To your second question: that Lancaster was not shot down in 1944 but in 1943. With help of internet I did find quite easily this as they have a reunion 21-23 May 2004:
44 (Rhodesia) Squadron Association
Contact H.M. Horscroft ( 44sqnassn@hhorscroft.freeserve.co.uk )
The internet is a more powerful instrument for finding answers, than you might have thought... All the best,
