Hello to all,
Its been a while since I've logged on to this site so I feel it only fair to start with a contribution. In my search for information on the Me-109 G-10,I've recently received an answer from the captured documents archive at NASM. Although little of it has to do specifically with the G-10, I was sent a 64 pg. print out of probably every damn document they have on the Me-109!
Lots of manuals, mostly for the G-1 thru G-5, a parts list for the G-6 (49 pgs. long) and lots of engineering test reports. My favorite is the test "carried out to determine whether stones hurled against a modified wooden tail unit of the Me-109G during take off and landing damaged the tail unit." I can picture it now, a group of "schwartz" men in their black coveralls, all lined up along the runway chucking rocks at a passing 109! Definitely more than one needs to know about the Me-109, but enough to keep the true aficionado busy for quite some time to come.
Anyway, God only knows what else they have there. For complete info, go to http://www.nasm.edu/nasm/arch/info/captured.htm
Be warned. You will be charged .30 cents per page for your "custom search" print out, payable with your first order. Think about that, my custom search is 64 pgs long. Be as specific as possible with your request and be prepared to wait. There are also restrictions as to how much you can order and how often, but it is certainly worth looking into.
Good Hunting,
Rich Corey
