Does any body know if there was a air base at GOSLAR or was it a military hospital.

Big airfield with orgins back to 1927. Taken over by the Luftwaffe in 1936. Major base for transport and transport glider units throughout the wartime years.

That's right. It was associated with the Fallschirmjaegers.
The Aufklaerungsstaffel of Student's Flieger-Division 7 under Oberleutnant Lampertsdoerfer was there in 1940 during ops in Poland, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands,Belgium, and Crete.
It was a typical well-built LW base with all mod-cons and very comfortable. I know because I lived on it in 1952/3 when it was occupied by the Lincolnshire Regiment, which was part of the British 11 Armoured Division. It was still called Fligerhorst Goslar in those days although no aircraft ever used it and the hangers were full of army vehicles.
