Richard P. Lutz, Jr, besides presiding over his business of Flugzeug Publications North America, is an avid Luftwaffe history and artifact collector. Richard has elected to share with us, at least in part, a detailed summary of his collection.

Me 262 Documents

Of especial interest to him is the Me 262. To that end, he has amassed so far 134 documents on this aircraft, which can be seen in the list at:

http://www.lwag.org/reference/rl262dl001.PDF

Rich Corey's message posted 18 July 2001 on Captured German & Japanese air technical documents at NASM is quite timely, as many of Richard's documents were sourced from the NASM collection.

NASM Microfilm List

Last updated in 1996, this is an extensive, but hardly complete, list of documents on the Desk Catalog of Captured German and Japanese Air Technical Documents microfilms now at the NASM Garber Archives. Only those microfilm reels so noted are ones that Richard actually has. The address for the list is:

http://www.lwag.org/reference/rlnasmml001.PDF

The following is an incomplete listing of aircraft, missiles, engines, avionics, etc. that have documents noted on Richard's list:

Dear Richard,

I guess my reply was timely. I have enjoyed dealing with Mr. Lutz for some time now. He is both kind and generous. Not only has he given me much need help, but puts up with my endless babbling rather well! I'd like to add to your topic that the Planes Of Fame Museum's Me-109 G-10 and Me-262 is some of his handywork.

Regards,

Rich
