T. C. Kenny has created a beautiful website entitled "The Flightline" WW II Aviation Archive. A number of museum photos are presented which should be of interest. The site address is:
http://www.kotfsc.com/aircraft/main.htm
Aircraft of Luftwaffe interest are covered in the following sections. Some photo labelling is incorrect, so be cautious. I've done the best I can to identify the aircraft as well as the museums some of the photos were taken at, but I certainly could be wrong in some of these.
Fighter Aircraft
The main page to this section has a beautiful color photo of two yellow nose Bf 109's in flying formation. Each aircraft covered has generally a lead color photo, technical specifications, background information, a list of variants, and a color profile. The aircraft covered are:

The superb site Hikoki: 46, by Edwin M. Dyer, III, is subtitled Experimental Jet, Rocket, & Prop Aircraft of the I.J.N. & I.J.A.. It covers in great depth the exotic and advanced aircraft Japan sought to field in the waning weeks of the war. I have to admit I bias toward an interest in these aircraft. Some have roots in German designs, while others were purely of Japanese origin.
The introductory page to the site is:
http://www.pelzigplatz.f2s.com/main.html
However, it is best to go to the index page (which contains the same introductory remarks) to actually get access to the site, itself, either at:
http://www.pelzigplatz.f2s.com/
or:
http://www.pelzigplatz.f2s.com/index.html
Again, I'm going to be selective in commenting only on those non-piston engined aircraft of Japanese origin or any Luftwaffe aircraft that Ed has on his site. He has much more than this, for those that are interested. I have, at least listed them. With that caveat, the sections are:
Navy Aircraft
<U>Kawanishi Baika</U> - With heritage from the piloted German V-1, the Fi 103, an excellent history of both plus the mention of the Me 328 is given, along with photos and color profiles.
<U>Mitsubishi J8M Shusui</U> - Closely based on the Me 163, a cross history of the two aircraft are given along with photos. There are 5 color photos of the Shusui in the Planes of Fame museum in Chino, CA, and a link to 4 excellent color computer graphic renditions of the Shusui. A second Shusui was found in a cave in Japan and there is a link to an article about this with 6 color photos and a drawing.
<U>Mizuno Shinryu</U> - A rocket powered special attack glider. The functional purpose of the rockets seems in doubt. Ed has provided an interesting article on this enigmatic aircraft, whose mission seems similar to other powered, manned bombs. Color drawings and a 4-view plan are provided.
<U>Nakajima Kikka</U> - Having a similar configuration to the Me 262, this aircraft is only loosely related to it. Ed presents an interesting interweaving tale of the history of the two aircraft. Two color drawings, 9 b&w photos, 1 3-view drawing, and 1 table cross comparing with the Me 262. There are also 1 color photo of a Kikka and 2 of its Ne 20 engine at the NASM Garber Facility in Silver Hill, MD. A link to another related site is provided.
<U>Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka Model 22, Model 33, Model 43 series, and Model 53</U> - Article on a series of manned, powered bombs. Eight b&w photos; side view line drawings of Models 11, 22, & 43 K-1 KAI, 3-view line & color drawings of Model 22; 1 color profile of Model 43 K-1 KAI; and table of specifications of Models 22 & 43B. Link to related website.
Propeller driven aircraft covered are:
Kyushu J7W Shinden
Mitsubishi J4M1 Senden
Nakajima G10N1 Fugaku
Yokosuka R2Y Keiun
Army Aircraft
<U>Nakajima Ki-201 Karyu</U> - Very close approximation to the Me 262. Article with 1 color drawing, 1 b&w profile, 1 3-view line drawing, 1 fictionalized license-built Me 262 color profile, and table cross comparing Me 262, Kikka, and Ki-201.
<U>Rikugun Ki-202 Shusui-Kai</U> - Article on the Army's version of the Me 163. Three-view line drawing and table cross comparing the Me 163, J8M1, and Ki-202.
Propeller driven aircraft covered are:
Kawasaki Ki-64
Kawasaki Ki-78
Kawasaki Ki-91
Mansyu Ki-98
Mitsubishi Ki-67 Hiryu Variants ( Ki-67-I KAI, Ki-67 Sakura-dan, Ki-67 long range ground attacker, Ki-109 )

Ki-115 Tsurugi
Rikugun Ki-93

Trying to Locate Surviving FW Ta-152
Fri Mar 16 13:19:01 2001
After a helpfull discussion on the All About Warfare website, I've learnt that there is an example of this aircraft pending restoration at the Silver hill depot in Washington (Ta-152-H Wernummer is 150 010, "6" JG301)
I was curious to know if anyone knows of any further survivors. Thanks

Ta-152 at NASM Garber facility is the only one left.
Fri Mar 16 16:29:51 2001
The following paragraph is from the NASM.edu Garber facility site.
http://www.nasm.edu/nasm/aero/aircraft/focke_ta152.htm
The National Air and Space Museum's Ta 152 is the only extant example of this fighter in the world today. NASM is also the only museum in the world that has preserved examples of the three major Fw 190 variants: the Fw 190F-8, the Fw 190D-9, and the Ta 152H-0. Each aircraft was built by the same manufacturer, but at different stages of the war and for different missions. Together, the trio offers a unique insight into German fighter development during World War II. Definitive information about the NASM Ta 152 has always been lacking but research conducted late in 1998 may have revealed the airplane's true identity as Werk-Nummer (serial number) 150020, not 150003 or '010 as has been widely reported. This places the airframe toward the end of the range of pre-production H-0 models, a variant marking the transition from the Ta 152 prototypes to full production Ta 152H-1 airplanes. It was probably built at Focke-Wulf's production facility at Cottbus, Germany, in December 1944, and delivered to Erprobungskommando Ta 152 at Rechlin, Germany, for service testing. As with most Ta 152s produced, '020 was apparently transferred to Jagdgeswader (fighter squadron) JG 301 in early 1945. A green '4' was painted on the fuselage and this may have been the squadron identification and radio call sign "Green 4" but much remains unknown about this aircraft.

Thomas Genth's aviation page site is a combination homage to Thomas's grandfather and father, both of whom served in the Luftwaffe, and a survivor's photo album. The website address is:
http://members.aol.com/tgenth/index.html
The above gets you to Thomas's The Page, in which he gives a history of the services of his grandfather and father. Thomas's grandfather, Adolf Genth, served in both WW I and WW II. He held the following positions in WW II:
Staffelkapitaen II. Kampfgeschwader 153 in Finsterwalde
Member of the Generalstab
Chief of the IV. Flieger-Korps
His father, Karl Georg Genth, served in the Luftwaffe from 1944 to 1945 - his age at that time 20 years. He served in III JG26 (squadron).
Further down The Page you come to his family photo albums covering WW I, WW II, and post WW II. I'm not sure all are family related, but they are very nice photos, indeed, and each can be enlarged.

Dave,
Presently the Ar 234 is in storage at Silver Hill and is in a building that is not on the tour.
The He 219 is also in storage and not visible.
Also the FW 190F is in a building not currently on the tour.
The NASM Silver Hill tour does get you ap close and personal to the Go 229, the Bachem Natter, the Ar 196.
All the planes you mentioned and many more will eventually be displayed in the new Steven F. Udvar-Hazy enter under construction.

Ta 152 camouflage questions...
Wed Sep 26 13:37:12 2001
It seems like the usual camouflage pattern for the Ta 152 H consisted of RLM 81 brown with 82 light green and 76 light blue undersides, right?
Somewhere I read though that Ta 152 H-1 W.Nr. 150168 "red 9" had a top fuselage camouflage of RLM 81 brown and RLM 83 dark green, and the wings were painted RLM 75 grey and RLM 83 dark green. All over an RLM 76 light blue belly.
Now this seems very unlogical to me. Why paint the wings in 75/83 and the fuselage in 81/83? Can anybody shed some light on this.
Furthermore, does anybody know the right colours for the following machines:
* Fw 190 V30/U1 (Ta 152 H-0 prototype), GH+KT. And does anybody know the Werke Nummer of this plane?
* Ta 152 V7 (C-0), W.Nr.110007, CI+XM.
* Ta 152 H-1, W.Nr. 150010, CW+CJ, "green 4", currently in storage at the NASM. The belly seems to have the green-grey "RLM 84" colour on some old colour photos taken in the USA??
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Ta 152 colors
Wed Sep 26 20:43:08 2001
Hi Ronnie,
the restoration team at the Smithsonian seems to have found no traces of RLM 81, at least not on the tail.
The (most) Ta 152s where probably painted in RLM 83/82/76, maybe with some parts unpainted.
The dark colored engine of W.Nr. 150168 "Green 9" could have been painted in anyone of the dark green colors. I don’t think it’s impossible that it could have been RLM 70 or 71, as the engine maker, Junkers Jumo, may have used these leftover colors from it's cancelled bomber program.
I have never heard of green-grey "RLM 84" on the Ta 152s, but who knows.
Hope this helps /Mikael

Luftwaffe Over Ohio!
This is an extensive article, with photos - some in color, on the captured Luftwaffe aircraft back to the U.S. It includes a nice bibliography. The article first appeared in <U>Air Classics</U>, v. 27, n. 7 (July 1991) and was later reprinted in <U>Warbirds International</U>, v. 12, n. 2 (March/April 1993). New pictures which did not appear in the articles are included here.
A link is also provided which brings the reader to a 2-part article on "Freeman Field Dig", by Dick Phillips, which appeared in the <U>Twin City Aero Historians Newsletter</U> . The article pertains to the search for buried Luftwaffe aircraft remains at Freeman Field.
Interpreting Military Aircraft Camouflage from Historical Records
Utilizing Luftwaffe colors of the late war 1944-1945 period, Paul F. Straney and Robert Sacchi point out the difficulties in properly identifying correct camouflage colors. Heavy emphasis is given to those on the Luftwaffe jets.
