German documents and records

Gentlemen,
It is true what Steve W. says regarding documents returned to Germany from the USA. But the Library of Congress in Washington, DC still retains large quantities of original German experimental aircraft/rocket reports and Luftwaffe documents from WWII. I have pulled both Me262 AND Me163 reports but unfortunatley I can not read German, so I returned the reports back to the stacks for filing.

Mrs. Isoldole Baur visited the LofC and searched the stacks. She recalls that many German test reports are misfiled, and it would take her several weeks to correct this problem.

The Library of Congress will provide earnest researchers a Stack Pass to allow access directly to the shelving housing all the German WWII reports. This saves them the time involved having to haul reports back and forth from the reading room. Most reports are original WWII copies while others have been placed on microfilm.

At some future date, I plan visiting the LofC and will search through their find aids to determine if any Luftgaukdo reports exist.

Yours very truly,
Norman Malayney
