Many:
what is your source about this a/c being an E-1 in 1939? There are two listings for it in 1941 and 1942 as being an E-7 (obviously upgraded).

Hello John
My source is a photograph, I have seen at ECPA it is a close up of an insignia showing a knight killing a dragon and near you can see the small piece of metal with the indication of the werk n° and beside E1.
the reportage was taken between the end of september and the beginning of oct 39
Best regards
Many.

Many,
interesting information indeed!
WNr. 1959 arrived at Reparaturwerke Ludwig Hansen & Co., Münster/Westfalen, on 19. Sept. 1939 for repair-works and again on 15. March 1940. The first date indicates some kind of minor damage during the campaign in Poland. The type of the a/c was only reported as "E".
