When did Fw-190A-8's start appearing?

When did Fw-190A-8's start appearing in units, like JG 54? I'm interested in the A-8's, not the other, earlier versions.

Thanks!

-Drew

Hi!

For a situation in a particular unit heck yourself at Michael Holm's homepage: http://www.ww2.dk/
Click "Orders of Battle" and choose unit.
(for example II/JG54 at: http://www.ww2.dk/oob/bestand/jagd/biijg54.html )

Check also:
"RLM aircraft production January 1944 - November 1944
based on C-Amts Monatsmeldungen" at: http://home.online.no/~odybvig/RLM/RLM44.html

It seems first FW190A-8 were actually taken over by Luftwaffe in March 1944 instead of planned Feb '44.

Regards,
Kari

I went to the third site Kari referenced. This is a webpage which is part of the Luftwaffe SIG Home Page (Special Interest Group Luftwaffe in Norway). It is entitled RLM aircraft production January 1944 - November 1944 based on C-Amts Monatsmeldungen. However, only tables for the months of Jan. to Mar. 1944 are given. The data is "Based on microfilms from The National Archives and Records Administration, Washington. T-177, reel no. 42." The tables shown present "New aircraft production based on RLM procurement programme 225 of 01.12.1943" and should be quite useful when comparing to the German originals at NARA.

Regards,
Richard

Peter Rodeike in his excellent "Focke Wulf Jagdflugzeug Fw190A,Fw190D,Ta152H" indicates that the first reported losses occured 8 April, 1944.
