I have a log book to a german cross in gold holder who served in a long range reconnassiance unit, but in his log book he seems to end up flying the ME-109G. Can any one explain why this could be. Again, any help is appreciated.
the pilots name is Wilhelm Webels.

Hi,

this could be because the units were equipped partly with Bf 109G-series aircraft.

You only have to check out the 'Flugzeugbestand und Bewegungsmeldungen' reports published online at Michael Holm's site ( http://www.ww2.dk ) to find several examples of this (examples: 1.(F)/120, 1.(F)/124)).
