LW combat report

Hello all.
I need your help in putting a document I have in my papers in its right place in the claim/confirmation iter.
It’s a Luftwaffe combat report (“Gefechtsbericht”), in 2 pages, the first of which is a “cover” with date, hour, location, enemy aircraft type, name of the claiming pilot and his
tally at the moment.
The second page is the story of the mission told by the claiming pilot, and again a list of data (hour, location, height, and name of the witness).
It is signed by the claiming pilot only.
Was this a “regular” claim document which pilots wrote and used to submit for confirmation?
If this may help, this combat occurred in 8/1942, Eastern front.
Thanks for any help.
Carlo
