Waffen Amt stamps and manufacturers stamps

Hello,

I'm looking for general information on how the Waffen Amt stamp system worked and for what purpose it was used.

I'm also looking for specific information on what the different stamps means. For example WaA 316, I guess that it identifies a special Waffen Amt (Military reception post) for receiving military goods. Does the stamp indicate that it may be used in fighting activities or were all military material marked - even forks, spoons etc?

Secondly I'm looking for listings of manufacturing stamps like for example:
"cwm" which indicates Luftschiffbau Zeppelin G.m.b.H, Friedrichaffen and
"byw" Johann Schäffer, Stettiner Schraubenwerk, Stettin.

I'm especially interested in Waffen Amt stamps and manufacturing stamps associated with the production of A4/V2 missiles and the equipment used with the missile deployment.

I'd be very gratefull in any hints on on-line material or published material in any language.

Many thanks for your help!

Best whishes
/Mikael Olrog

There was a list of the three character codes published in 1944 and a copy of this reprinted by Karl R. Pawlas in 1977. This list ends with ozz, so is not complete. The book may be available through some used book dealers or through interlibrary loan. Since this list covers all services, not just Luftwaffe, there may be a chance to locate the list through other German militaria sources. I have received some information through the net, if anyone knows a site where this is available please note it here or at the LWAG.
