Dear LWAG,
I asked BA Freiburg about the possibility of them having documents on the Ju-390 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junkers_Ju_390). The Ju-390 was a 6-engine, long-range a/c that only reached the prototype stage. The archive responded that I look in the Generalluftzeugmeisters records group RL-3, but suggested that I would be very unlikely to find anything specific.
Richard Eger pointed out that BA Freiburg only contains records from operational a/c, but I thought that since I am in Freiburg for the summer it might be a good idea to check them out anyway.
Has anyone come across any documentary records on the Ju-390? Specifically whether or not a prototype a/c was developed? This webpage (http://www.kheichhorn.de/html/body_junkers_ju_390.html) claims that 2 prototypes were built but destroyed in an Allied bombing raid. The information online for this aircraft seems pretty circumstantial, so I would also be interested if anybody can point out a few published references about the a/c.
Thanks!
