Dear all.
This is my first all message on this wonderful forum.
Our team search for WWII crashes sites in southern France, and you can visit us at :
www.aero-relic.org
Hope you enjoy it.
In our many and differents WWII'Luftwaffe crashes sites we visited, we have at this time two particulars who give us a more work !
Here are a specials asks from us :
In 1994, during an exposition, an German, aged we think 35/40 years old, explain us that his father was during WWII, an Junkers Ju 88'pilot.
One day, after engines problem, he ditched his plane in Lake Berre (Etang de Berre in French), located between Merseille and Istres/Salon-de-Provence where were based the Ju 88's at this time.
2 years ago, a friend of mine discovered in "Lake Berre", an intact Junkers 88 at only 30 feest of deep.
I had the privilege of to dive on this plane, and was amazing by his shape.
we can first, said that the wreck is an Ju 88 A4 (bomber version).
My question is, some one in the forum, have informations in an possible
perfect ditching in Lake Berre during WWII ? We have two loss in Lake berre in May 1944, but that all. No serila number or other were discovered at this time.
Our second question concern the remains of an Junkers Ju 52, very close the top of the Mount Viso (more hight mountain top of Southern Italy).
We discovered many pieces, and an particular data plaque worrying an number like : 800xx8 (the two XX are not readable numbers) followed by : 04-21-MGY.
The number 800xx8 can to be an original manufacturer serial number or military number ?
By advance, we thank you all very much in the help you will can give us
about our questions.
Have a nice day.
Philippe
