Hi All,
In the January 2009 issue of FlyPast magazine
http://www.flypast.com/
is the story of my father, Lt. Stanley Canner USAAF, a Mustang pilot who was shot down at 1917h on 14 July 1944 into enemy-occupied territory in France. I'm hoping someone can help me obtain the Mission Summary Reports from the archives of JG 1 for the evening mission that day. His was the only Mustang downed that day. I'm writing a book of his military story and would like the event as told on the German side.
Three pilots, Ihlefeld, Grislawski and Vogel claimed him as a victory.
Also looking for a photo of Uffz. Jakob Vogel and info on whether he might be still alive or the date of his death.
Thanks,
Neil
