Hi everyone, I'm trying to research who claimed a kill on a Hurricane from 111 Squadron about 12.50 on September 02 1940. The pilot was Sgt. W. L. Dymond who was shot down over Thames estuary and did not bale out, so is still posted as "missing in action". From JG26 the history, I know that JG26 Schlageter had a rest day, so it would not have been one of their a/c but in Chris. Goss's book on the Jabo action over UK, 3/Erpr Gr 210 merged with II(S)/LG2 for an airfield bombing mission and this was apparently the first sortie for II/LG2 on that day. But there were so many other KanalGeschwader operating I am at a loss where to start looking, so any information would be greatly appreciated. Or any information on where to look. Thanking you for your help, Best Wishes,
Bill Haldane

In The Battle Of Britain Then & Now by Winston G Ramsey it just states that Sgt Dymond was shot down in combat with Bf 109's over the Thames Estuary but does not state which unit(s) these Bf 109's belonged to.
