Les Butler offers for sale unit emblem prints via his website "Löwen Emblem Prints" at:

Les used to have a website where these were freely displayed, but became dismayed about their thefts to other websites. He thus shut down his site and replaced it with the above for those willing to shell out the money for his efforts.

This notice does not represent an endorsement of his products, but is just a notice of their availability. The notice is intended also to recognize their historical significance, much as that for books on Luftwaffe history.

Unfortunately The link you provided does not seem to lead anywhere.

Maybe this site was shutdown too.

Dear Gilles,

All I could backtrack to is the JG 26 website, which is different from Les' emblem site. I have written him a note to see what the status is. Thank you for alerting me to the dead link.

Thank you for your help.

I have tried also to reach Mr. Butler by email about 4-5 weeks ago. I was given a couple of email addresses to contact him by his JG-26 partner.

I did not get any replies.......

Any other sources would be most appreciated. I do own a copy of "Luftwaffe Emblems 1939-1945" by Barry Ketley & Mark Rolfe. This book lists about 850 emblems. Still, a lot of WII LW units do not have any emblems listed in this book. I am talking about most of the late war (1943-1945) JagdGeschwader between JG-100 and JG-117, most Schlachtgeschwader......

Is it the fact that they did not have emblems, or there are no record of those units having emblems. One would assume all of the WWII units had some sort of emblems.

As well, any information about WWII LW units mottos ?
