Database design

I'm planning to design a database to track Luftwaffe units throughout the war in Filemaker Pro. I already plan to track unit movements by airfield/region as well as the following fields: strength (on the first of the month)/aircraft types; higher HQ (up to Luftflotte) and status/notes (training/resting/forming, etc.)

Does anyone have any further suggestions? I don't think I'll try and track any Werknummers as that's not a primary interest of mine. What I want to do is to be able to find out what units are in a given area at a given time and their strength/equipment. Kind of an automated OB generator if you will.
