Heinz Rokker - NJG2
Tue Dec 11 00:36:54 2001
Heinz Rokker was a NJG2 pilot who finished the conflict with 64 victories.
He survived the war. Is he still alive today? If not, when did he pass and where is he buried?
Also, he wrote a book about NJG2. Any opinions on his work? I found nothing in a search of this board.
Thank you!

Rokker's book

Definitely worth getting if you're into the NF stuff. Its almost like a war diary of I./NJG 2 -- and probably is, though it isn't necessarily laid out as such vs. Kock's NJG 6 war diary. Many photos, including some that show very interesting, if not unique, armament schemes. Also includes claims, losses, lists of personnel. Very well done as these things go. Contact Richard Lutz if you're in the U.S., or the VDM (publisher) web site. I'd post it, but my work PC, where I had it saved, just got creamed by a virus.

I guess that TWO thumbs up for Rokker's book on NJG2. My German is very, very rough but I can plod through it. I found the book just doing a search on Rokker. A Canadian dealer had it listed.
I'm in the USA - Mass. I will try to locate a US dealer, unless you can reccomend.
I have also just learned that Rokker is alive and well, as is his gunner. The bordfunker was very ill a little while ago and may have passed away.
As always, thanks for the info!

Roekker not Rokker

Every name deserves correct spelling. If you are not familiar with the "Umlaute" of the German language, write "ae", "oe" and "ue" instead, not simply "a", "o" and "u".
That is why for international keyboards the correct spelling of famous German names is "Moelders", "Baer" ... and "Roekker".
