Me 109 Shot down over Ruckinge 1940 ?

Hi all
Having recently joined this great forum and after viewing quite a few of the existing threads i feel certain with all this expertise available someone out there will possibly be able to help. I have spent Hrs trying to verify this incident but to no avail i know the information i have is a little vague.

Me 109 reportedly shot down over Ruckinge Kent on 1st November 1940. Excavated 17th October 1971.
I have no idea who recovered this aircraft this is all that is stated on the tag on a piece of cowling supposedly from this aircraft the piece is undoubtedly from a Me 109.

I would appreciate any assistance to identify if this is correct.
