David Birnbaum

My uncle was a B-24 pilot shot down on Jan. 24, 1944 southeast of Elbasan, Albania. He held the plane while the crew bailed out. The crew survived and he was last seen heading for Italy on two engines.
The Embassy has been a great help is searching crash sites but to help I'm trying to narrow of the area of search.
The one possibility is from an interrogation officer who spoke with the crew at point of capture in Elbasan. Looking for a Luftwaffe Claim report. Maybe at NARA?

Any suggestions would sure be helpful.

Are there reports that interrogation officers file and if so do you know where they would be stored. Do Appreciate the claim report.

As you can see all the B-24 claims are from an publication about JG 27.
Not from Abschussreports or interrogation files.
