Font for Fuselage
Wed Jan 3 17:20:07 2024

Hi,

Several months ago someone posted a Truetype font for the fuselage code markings. Following a recent crash of my hard drive I seem to have lost my copy. Does anyone
still have a copy they could email me?

Thanks

Ray Simmons

Luftwaffe stencils font

A little while ago, on the board was listed a link where I could download the fonts usd for the LW stencilling. Also there was one link for the fonts used for the markings. Can anyone repost these two links?
Thank you
Radu

I made the Luftwaffe markings font some time ago. It's called "Blockschift fur Flugzeuge".

It can be downloaded from www.ju388.de

I don't know about any stenciling font. I don't think anybody has made it yet. If somebody has, then I'm upset I wasn't informed!!! heh heh

It used to be at the bottom of the page, but it moved to "downloads and links" instead. The exact link is .zip]http://cip.physik.uni-wuerzburg.de/~vernalek/LWfont[RJO].zip

Hi Ronnie,
Thanks for the help, that is one of the fonts I wanted. As for the stencilling font, it was a link on this board about a year ago. That was the font used for all the instructions on the aircraft.
Regards,
Radu

Luftwaffe code letter font names

Hello -

Does anyone know the names for the different Luftwaffe letter fonts that were used for Stammkennzeichen and aircraft numbers?

Has anyone found a site which offers Luftwaffe character sets as a downloadable font set for use in Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft products?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Mike

According to "Luftwaffe Colors" Volume 1 by Merrick the letters are defined by a particular (and probably obsolete by now) DIN standard. I don't have the book here in order to look it up. Sorry.

This is the only link that I know of for a Luftwaffe font (Blockschrift für Flugzeuge.ttf):

http://www.fscwv.edu/users/rheffner/...s/wb3view.html

Although it's not what you asked, this site has RAF/RCAF fonts:
http://members.aol.com/p5219/fonts.htm

And finally, here is a site with modern USAF/USN fonts:

Thanks very much for providing links for German, RAF and US fonts. Actually, the RAF WWII fonts are also very helpful for some projects I am working on and the US fonts are useful to have for future reference.

I'd also appreciate knowing if you've found a site that provides fonts for French WWII aircraft.

Hi Mike,

I made the Blockschrift font a few years ago. I see you already downloaded the font, but in any case it can always be downloaded from www.ju388.de as well.

I will put it up for download on my own homepage ( www.skyraider3d.com as well soon, as I see there is still a demand for it. I never imagined this font would travel around the world someday, heh heh
by the way, it is made according to DIN 1451.

For proper usage see this page on www.luftarchiv.de.

German font - 6./JG51 emblem
Fri Jul 23, 2024 14:41

Hi all

Any font experts!!

I have been looking at the stencilled emblem of 6./JG51 (supposedly the crow/umbrella immitating Prime Minister Chamberlain?) Below the crow on the shield are the words "Gott Strafe England!"

Has anyone any idea of the font type for this writing. Assume it is an old German one? Cannot find a www. reference for you to look at to help clearly to identify it.

Somethnig like FF Brokenscript, Fette Gothic.

Would be a great help

regards

MS
