Default Luftwaffe Experten Message Board, by Peter D. Evans

Many know of Peter's Luftwaffe Experten Mailing List, which has been around since 1996 and is considered one of the bulwark Luftwaffe history discussion forums. In an effort to provide a structured forum which would allow the posting of photos, Peter created the Luftwaffe Experten Message Board. With an ever growing list of additions, Peter has created an umbrella home page where information or access to each of his forums and sites can be accessed. The website address is:

http://www.luftwaffe-experten.co.uk/

The sections accessed via this home page are:

Luftwaffe Experten Mailing List

One of the oldest Luftwaffe history forums on the web, the LEML is, as its name implies, a direct mailing to members of each other's questions and comments, with Peter acting as mailing list administrator. The benefit is that all members see all messages. The drawback is that there is no real structure, nor any means to post photos. To resolve these issues, Peter has created the...

Luftwaffe Experten Message Board

The board has currently 69 members, versus 300 for the list. Eventually, Peter hopes that the board will be able to replace the mailing list but, for now, the two exist side by side. A lot of effort and thought have gone into the board and it is an extremely valuable Luftwaffe history resource. Highlighting this board are its many photos. The sections of the board are:

Announcements
Warbirds of the Luftwaffe
Theatre of Operations
Captured Aircraft with the Luftwaffe - an especially active discussion area
Luftwaffe Survivors - many excellent photos
Weapons
Miscellaneous Equipment
Various Topics
Luftwaffe Photo Identification
Colours, Markings and Codes 1933-45
Luftwaffe Documentation & Archives Worldwide - a nice plug for the LWAG
Luftwaffe Links

Luftwaffe Image Archive

Currently under construction, a single example is shown for the Ar 196 giving a short history and two photos.

Luftwaffe Links

Currently, 22 links to some of the best Luftwaffe history sites on the web.

Beuteflugzeuge 1933-45 Homepage

This page is the handiwork of Patrick Righart van Gelder, Mike R Murphy and Peter D Evans. Quoting from the homepage:

"This resource sets out to list every captured aircraft flown in service or tested by the Luftwaffe between 1933-45. At present, only detailed listings of the types tested and pressed into service are included. However, we have started to add images to the Photograph section which will, in time, include every type flown thus building up an invaluable on-line resource."

Regards,
Richard

I have run across an image of this apparently French built aircraft in German markings. Was it ever flown operationally?

Andy,
Many thanks for the excellent link.
I caught a rather murky b/w shot (On E-Bay) of a DH88 lying somewhat derelict in a French? hangar-no visible registration-any clues?
Regards
Colin Sedgwick.
