Savoia Staffel and SM-82 Canguro Aircraft used by Luftwaffe

I am looking into my stepfathers Luftwaffe years during WW2. He was an unter offizier and observer in these Italian built Luftwaffe used aircraft. His name is Heinrich Georg Thomas. He passed away here in Wisconsin in 2024.

I am looking for crash and shoot down reports. Especially those of the Savoy Squadron Flight 1, during the period October 1942 through August 1944.

I am also interested in seeing the squadrons insignia.

Any help is appreciated.

I have provided a number of short biographies on my relatives who served in the United States military, to an archive here for Wisconsin veterans. I am a retired US Navy CPO. The archive requires that the veteran being documented either started from Wisconsin or ended up here after that persons service. I thought it might be interesting to do my stepfathers short bio and genealogy, because, after all, he is a war veteran who made his life here in Wisconsin after WW2. He was a most successful engineer.

Any help or guidance is appreciated and will be cited in the bio.
