Subject: Re: about access to captured German files kept in Russian archives

Dear Richard,

I just received the following (short) message from a Russian aviation history researcher, with whom I have (sporadic) co-operation:

I wrote:

Also, maybe there are captured German files at Podolsk, with Luftwaffe losses for 1944 (documents of Generalquartiermeister 6). Information on captured German aircraft also are of interest. Of course, captured Rumanian documents would of interest as well.

He wrote:

Yes, there is a fund of captured [Axis] documents in Podolsk, but getting files from it requires personal permission of the General Staff of Russian Army. Unfortunately I don't have one.

...

Yours:

Dénes
