From TOCH!:

Ostermann

Hi all

Interesting story. (Hopefully the remains are treated with the respect they deserve!).

In the next Luftwaffe im Focus No5 there is a story on the 'belly landing' of Ostermann.

I also believe there was a wartime photo (might be wrong) on ebay a few months back showing a picture of Ostermann's aircraft after crash landing (it showed the rear fuselage and tail unit and rudder with victory markings). If this was his, it showed he died in a 'crash landing' of sorts and not a more vertical dive as the pictures on the side suggest.

Not at home, so needs looking into further. Hopefully the Luftwaffe im Focus story will shed more light.

regards

MS
